I loved it, I loved it, I loved it! A real page turner--couldn't put it down from about the middle to the end.

I loved Roskin's development, as well as the 2 other women and of course Red, the general.

An example of your sentence descriptions that flowed so well and caught my attention was this on page 138--"The battles of his career were a blur, A COLLECTION OF MEMORIES THAT BLED TOGETHER INTO ONE LONG WAR." Wow, that's good.

Keep up the good work.

While I haven't finished the entire book as of yet, I felt I needed to post something here regarding The Brotherhood Of Dwarves. The book is impressive to say the least. The writing style is very fluid and immersive, and the development of both the characters and settings is wonderful.

Wonderful job! I can easily forsee this leading to a very succesful career. The posibilities in the 'universe' you have created are limitless. I would love to see a story concerning the elven lands. :)

Great job man, I'm very proud of you.

;D

Almost finished with the book. I have to say, I am really enjoying it! I have four people waiting to see what I think before they buy and I feel they will be thrilled with the high adventure content. I would highly recommend this author and cannot wait for the next book!

I wanted to post an update once I finished the book, which as of today I have. I promised to be critical to my old friend, D.A. but to be honest, I found nothing to be critical about. The story never lets up, there is action up until the end of the book.

Wonderful job!

I wanted to let you know that I finished your book, and I think you did a marvelous job. So many good things - memorable characters, action-filled plot, unusual twists, and new ways of presenting some terrific themes.

I liked the way that you showed growth in your characters, especially Roskin and Crushaw - Roskin's realizations that a selfish quest for one's own desires is not always a good thing - not only for the group but for the individual as well, his quest for one thing (a statue showing "brotherhood") paled in comparison with his epiphany that he had encountered the real thing. I loved the section where he was tied to a post and escaped his own body. That was a beautiful scene with his elfin mother, and it actually made me think about the film The Passion of the Christ and the idea that there is such a connection between mothers and their children, a connection that extends well beyond childhood, and in Roskin's case, a connection that didn't rely on physical proximity. There was just enough in terms of hints to show that Roskin wasn't like all the rest - he did have some of his mother's supernatural abilities, although he himself didn't completely realize it. I thought at first that Roskin was a Christ-figure, and in some ways, he is, but it is also Crushaw who makes such a sacrifice - willing to lose his own life to free Roskin. I loved the idea of brotherhood through diversity - each of these "races" was different, but in the end, the characters were able, to some degree, to accept difference, but only through shared hardships.

So much to love. I liked your imagery, and one phrase that really got me was on p. 164: "He hadn't spoken Orcish since escaping bondage, but as he went from shop to shop, the language came back to him like a slow rain on a dry field." Good stuff!

Oh - and P. S. - I loved that you made two of the heroes female. Not nearly enough of that even in modern literature! They were strong and savvy, and
although Molgheon had been married, she didn't ride on the coattails of her husband's success.

Mr. Adams,
As a former student at TC, I am so very proud of you. I enjoyed having you in all of the Rhet. classes. I just wanted you to know that, I only hope for the best for you and your future in your writing. ;)

You are truly a passionate person in your writing and in your teaching. My husband and I were glad to come to Carpe and support you. :)

When you become famous, don't forget your former students and friends. You also will have to take comfort that if you ever want to debate sports, my husband will be happy to oblige. ;) LOL!

Take care and God Bless!

I just wanted to say that I have finished reading your book and as an avid reader of fantasy for the past 20 years I really enjoyed your book. The characters were full and you could really get to enjoy them. I would like to see further novels about the Empire and Ogres and thier society. Keep the Elves mysterious though :) Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for an enjoyable read.

makelor,

Thank you for the kind words. I hope to produce more novels set in this world, and in fact, I'm well into the second one. My goal is to have it out by late spring/early summer of next year. We'll see, though. ;) I've been pretty busy lately.

Post again and let us know more about yourself.

Hello everyone. I just wanted to say that I loved the book, especially the fluidity of character development. I found the book beautifully descriptive and well written. The action was intense and fast paced. Overall I think this novel has great appeal for all audiences.

I'm eager to hear everyone else's opinion of the book; specifically what is your favorite scene?

What I'm most anxious to know is when we'll receive the next novel.
